Meadow Ridge Volunteers,
Spokane Regional Health District has asked our district to be prepared for a Mumps outbreak. This could affect anyone who shares air apace with our students, including classroom volunteers. Spokane Regional Health District has asked that individuals born after January 1, 1957 verify that they are immune. Here are accepted ways to prove immunity:
1. Provide a copy of Immunization record indicating at least 1 MMR dose for adults
2. Provide titer (blood test) results showing immunity to Mumps
3. Have a MMR booster vaccination (shot)
Please provide the information in a sealed envelope to the front office staff. This will be given to the nurses to verify immunity.
We look forward to meeting with parents at our upcoming elementary conferences taking place February 15-17. Conference scheduling details will be posted soon. Read more . . .
The weather continues to be very cold, especially with a wind chill factor. Please remind your kids to dress in appropriate winter attire during this cold front. Frostbite can occur with any prolonged skin exposure to extreme cold weather and is most likely to affect the hands, nose, ears, and feet. So, please encourage students to wear warm coats, mittens, hats, and appropriate footwear.
Please contact our school social worker, Debbie Wiechert (465-6600), if you need any assistance in acquiring winter clothing.
