Free Food! Wednesday April 22nd

Generation Alive & 2nd Harvest Food Bank will be at Midway Elementary (821 E. Midway Rd., Colbert, WA 99005) on Wednesday, April 22nd, during our regular Mead Eats meal distribution time (11 am - 12:30 pm) to distribute boxes of fresh & frozen food to families. It is first come, first served.

ART Fundraiser - It's Here!!

Art Fundraiser time is here! THIS IS OUR ONLY ART FUNDRAISER! It funds our entire art program for the whole year! Please be generous with your orders. (Great for gifts!)
The kids did their artwork last month (amazing!). Their art stickers and order forms are coming home starting today! Watch for a Ta-Da sticker on your kiddo soon!

SPORTS! Spring Sports Start March 30th and ends April 30th

Softball & Flag Football are both 6th grade Co-ed sports that start March 30 & ends April 30th. The days are Monday, Wednesday, & Thursday from 3:30-5:00!

Track is for 4th, 5th & 6th graders & starts May 4th & ends May 27th. The days are Monday, Wednesday & Thursday from 3:30-5:00. Dual & District track meet days may go longer than 5 pm. The district track meet will be held at Whitworth Track on Tuesday, May 26th & Wednesday, May 27th, starting by 3:00 pm.

Sexual Health Education Update - ESSB 5395

The Mead School District is closely following ESSB 5395, a bill that updates Sexual Health Education in Washington State. Be assured the district is a strong advocate for maintaining local control of curriculum decisions regarding sexual health education. Therefore, if a legislative mandate is signed into law, our district will exercise as much local control as possible in order to meet any mandated requirements, while at the same time keeping the learning needs of our students at the center of our work.
